My Journey - Why I Got Into Sound Baths
I have built a career running on adrenaline and coffee. Fight or flight was my default setting, though I didn't have the words for it back then. I just thought that was how life worked.
Lockdown changed that. Everything slowed down, but my mind and nervous system raced on. In the weirdness but sudden stillness of lockdown, I could no longer outrun what I'd been holding at bay and it all seemed to come to a head, so I turned inward to understand why I felt the way I did. I had spent years chasing nature around the planet, seeking calm in remote wilderness like my life depended on it. It always took the edge off and left my nervous system feeling calmer, but it never got to the root, and the relief never lasted much beyond the moment I left.
I threw myself into finding answers. My science brain led the way at first, always looking for the evidence, the mechanism, the why. Then slowly I made space for a more soulful, intuitive view too, and found the two aren't as far apart as I once thought.
Sound baths became a huge part of that journey. I fell in love with the crystal bowls almost instantly, the way the vibrations moved through me, shifting something emotional as well as physically. Meditation had never worked for me. My mind is too musical, too busy, too full of to do lists, but sound healing gave me permission to properly switch off for the first time. The effect built session by session. The more I went, the better I felt, and for longer periods each time.
Earthsound Journey grew out of that. I know I'm not the only one carrying a nervous system that needs a bit more care........one that just needs...a moment.
If you're on a similar path, we'd love to help your energy find its way back into balance too!
Come on a journey and see. You might just love it!
